Camping, the Highmountain Way!

Leidolfr , tour guide of the famous Torahate and Leidolfr Tours and Mountain Climbing business, led the way for some new adventurers and campers to choice locations throughout Highmountain.

Starting the mini-vacation, the group's first night was spent overlooking Sylvan Falls for some sightseeing and storytelling.  Most of the group sought shelter for the night, except for veteran Shu'halo Dodoa and the tour guide, himself, Leidolfr Redwood.

The next night, the young tour guide, led the group to the North coast of Highmountain and the tiny fishing village of Shipwreck Cove.  As the group enjoyed some fishing, Anchorite Karam landed a big one... and at about 12 feet in length it did not look happy at the situation.  As it started to splash and threaten to bludgeon the campers with its fins, the Anchorite levitated the fish out of the water and Council Dodoa finished off the beast before anyone's fur... or skin, got wet!  Everyone retired back to the campfire and enjoyed several slices of cooked fish, courtesy of Leidolfr, master chef of Leidolfr's in Orgrimmar when wearing one of his other entrepreneurial hats.  And, since they could not possibly finish it all, the Tribesmen gave the rest to the locals so it would not go to waste.

Night 3 was spent at the foothills leading up to the Peaks of Highmountain itself.  A tour guide has to know when the Summit winds are too dangerous to continue.  Council Dodoa, Sunwalker Maholta Firetotem, and Leidolfr spent the night enjoying each other's company, knowing the day will come when the group will tackle the hike up the summit!

A Sermon at the Barrens Scar

Outside of Crossroads, The Barrens 02.01.2021 and 02.03.2021

At the cavernous damage, which now separates North and South Barrens, damage wrought by the passage of Deathwing, Anchorite Karam gave a Sermon to those members of the Horde willing to hear.

She affirmed the strength of the races of the Horde and after outlining several tragedies and disasters that are still being faced today… a large Sword in the Earth Mother, constant invasions, and countless other dangers, Karam insisted their existed a tool and a way to make things right.

Of note, did the audience notice, the Anchorite failed to state what that tool is… Perhaps we can learn what it is, and start to help the Earth Mother, instead of expecting her to help us.

Perilous Escapades

Bastion and Maldraxxus

02.01.2021 and 02.15.2021

Both Okwaho and Leidolfr lead Redwood as they begin to search out the locations on each of the maps found in the mechanical lock box.  â€‹

First stop,  Bastion, with Kokorii Rumblestream, Anchorite Karam, and Sunwalker Maholta Firetotem.  The well known tracking skills of the Shu'halo saw the Firetotem brave find the first puzzle piece... and immediately the former Sage of the Tribes knew what they searched for, but

not why.

Found buried and secreted by the tall grasses was the back of a timepiece, carved with a rune, by the hand of Leidolfr himself one night at a Roadhouse long ago.  It came as no surprise to Leidolfr that next in his new home of Maldraxxus, amid the refuse in the House of Eyes, the group found the front face to the timepiece.

Despite finding the objects, the group still was unable to make a connection between the new lands of the punished dead, the Twilight Cult, and an old Wyrm of the Infinite Dragonflight.  Hope or Dread, remains to be seen.

Chief's Corner

Greetings all!

Interesting news is crossing my writing desk and I am most curious to see it all play out.  Could it be that we are on the verge of healing Azeroth?  This is what it seems to suggest, if someone really does have the means.  Honestly, since the devastation of countless wars, dragons, demons, and titans, our world has paid the price of our folly.  We have been given chance after chance to work together to protect and keep safe our world and each other, but we choose to continue strife over safety.

I do my best to stay out of these Shadowlands, but the news comes in daily of altercations throughout Bastion and Maldraxxus... and yet, no report of Sylvanas being brought to justice.

Put aside the differences, we only have one Azeroth.

Earth Mother watch over us!

Tasty Treats: Sommer Starsong, The Ashen Vale

Mac and Cheese for the Azerothians

Ingredients

1 lb. dried elbow pasta

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 1/2 cups whole milk

2 1/2 cups half and half

4 cups grated medium sharp cheddar cheese divided (measured after grating)

2 cups gruyere cheese divided (measured after grating)

1/2 Tbsp. salt

1/2 tsp. black pepper

1/4 tsp. paprika

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F and grease a 3 qt baking dish (9x13").  Set aside.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.  When boiling, add dried pasta and cook 1 minute less than the package directs for al dente.  Drain and drizzle with a little bit of olive oil to keep from sticking.

While water is coming up to a boil, grate cheeses and toss together to mix, then divide into three piles.  Approximately 3 cups for the sauce, 1 1/2 cups for the inner layer, and 1 1/2 cups for the topping.

Melt butter in a large saucepan over MED heat.  Sprinkle in flour and whisk to combine.  Mixture will look like very wet sand.  Cook for approximately 1 minute, whisking often.  Slowly pour in about 2 cups or so of the milk/half and half, while whisking constantly, until smooth.  Slowly pour in the remaining milk/half and half, while whisking constantly, until combined and smooth.

Continue to heat over MED heat, whisking very often, until thickened to a very thick consistency.  It should almost be the consistency of a semi thinned out condensed soup.
Remove from the heat and stir in spices and 1 1/2 cups of the cheeses, stirring to melt and combine.  Stir in another 1 1/2 cups of cheese, and stir until completely melted and smooth.
In a large mixing bowl, combine drained pasta with cheese sauce, stirring to combine fully.  Pour half of the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish.  Top with 1 1/2 cups of grated cheeses, then top that with the remaining pasta mixture.

Sprinkle the top with the last 1 1/2 cups of cheese and bake for 15 minutes, until cheesy is bubbly and lightly golden brown.

Rites of Passage

Sun Rock Retreat, Stonetalon Mountains

01.25.2021

The Redwood Tribes and Frost Reaver Clan met amidst the canyons of Stonetalon to partake in another cycle of the Rites of Passage.  Warbrave Torahate Redwood led the groups through the Rite of Strength.  He reminded them of the lore of the Firetotem while the participants sought to accomplish the three parts of the Rites.  In the end, many passed the tests, but expectations are always higher the more you have accomplished in the past.
